Request crawl space help
If the Neuse or a storm has put water under the house, or a floor feels unsafe to walk on, call. For musty smells, ground covers and dehumidifiers, send a request and a local company will call you back.
Before you call
It helps to have:
- The street address and town, so your request reaches a company that covers that part of Wayne County
- What you've noticed: odor, wet or fallen insulation, water on the ground, a torn ground cover, or a soft or sagging floor
- Whether the crawl space is vented or already sealed, if you know
- Whether the house took on water during Hurricane Matthew in 2016 or another storm
- If you're buying, selling or moving on military orders, your deadline
Floodwater under the house? Stay out of the crawl space until power to any equipment down there is off, and don't go in if framing is sagging or you see damaged wiring.
